Horizon 2020 ERA Chair proposal – Tallinn University
Tallinn University received € 2.4 million as an investment for scientific research on education innovation and ICT from the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 ERA Chair fund. The project aims at fostering excellent interdisciplinary research combining methods, instruments and experts from educational sciences, cognitive psychology, human-computer interaction, data science and learning analytics to increase Tallinn University’s capacity in research on technology-enhanced educational innovation.
The ERA Chairs actions is a part of Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme for supporting universities or other eligible research organisations to attract and maintain high quality human resources and implement the structural changes necessary to achieve excellence on a sustainable basis. An ERA Chair holder should be an outstanding researcher and research manager in the given field of research, with a proven record of effective leadership. ERA Chairs are expected to establish their own team and help the research organisation to significantly improve its research performance and to be more successful in obtaining competitive funding.
Invent Baltics helped to coordinate the whole proposal preparation process assisting Tallinn University in defining the objectives, scientific vision, action plan and sustainability plan based on Tallinn University’s SWOT analysis as well as outline the main impacts in the field.
